To me, this group reminds me of The Talking Heads, a little Gogol Bordello, and The Arcade Fire....mix a little brass in there for a latin flavor when needed. A band of gypsies finally getting the exposure they're
due. After coming across them I headed straight to iTunes to buy...because this is music that you must own. It's eclectic...and everyone should have some music that can't be explain or pinned to one specific sound. Listening to them is
like eating at a Mexican/Russian restaurant...you get a blend of all types of both sounds.

New Order - Republic
May 1980, Ian Curtis, singer of Joy Division committed suicide and left three talented band members behind that later went on to form New Order. That band from Manchester had two worldwide hits in the 80's with Blue Monday and True Faith.
Years later in 1993 they released "Republic", an album that features beautiful synthesizer-based music, reinforced with strong bass lines and great percussion. "Republic" is an album that may take a moment to get used to but once you do
you will love it, my advice would be to sit down in an easy chair, put some headphones on and press play. Some excellent songs are "Regret", "Ruined in a Day", "Everyone Everywhere" and "Special".

Vladivojna La Chia |

I am reminded of two of my favorite female rock/punk singers,
Aimee from The Start and
Ninette from Powder when I listen and watch Vladivojna up on stage. I recently came across her and her band at
Vinohrady Open Air concert just near my place in Prague. The voice caught my attention and then so did the outfit and hair (look at her web site). This is what Europe needs more of...a rock girl with the vocals and flare to draw
attention and be in your face. The band brings it really hard too, which needs to happen to match the force Vladivojna serves up.
