I love themes...and with that, the theme of this MRN Dose is Munich and Flying, going back to Oktoberfest and just recently been flying. God help us with the theme if I ever go to jail and Thailand in the same week.

- Found on the Munich Records web site, this was a sweet little surprise for a Monday morning. Besides the name of Dyzack's newest album name being classic, Somewhere There's a Monkey Laughing (monkeys are getting a lot of air and print time lately). His slightly raspy voice is what hooked me in...along with the sounds of the stand-up bass. It's catchy but not in the American way catchy. Definitely what I can listen to over and over, as I am finding myself doing on just the samples. Which you can find right here.

Listen to "Oh Susanne" and others through Munich Records here.

Flying Machine

- Go now and listen to to "Suicide Love"...it's noisy but soothing in some way. They bring the tempo down a little during the song just to pick it up in true rockstar form. And the singer covers quite a few ranges, even scratchy screaming that still works for the song because it's almost like it's coming from a real experience. It may sound a little garagey to some, but this is still different for me. The third song on their myspace space is a young Our Lady Peace sound...finally one comparison I'm comfortable making. And because I'm a sucker for repetitive guitar at the start of any song, I love the song "Run Honey", I can almost compare this song to Better Than Ezra, a little U2, and LIVE...but again, comparison's aren't my thing, they sound like Flying Machine. I am super-stoked that I found this band...you have no idea.

Listen to "Suicide Love" and "Run Honey" through their MySpace page here.
